Privacy Policy

Plain English, covering only what this site actually does. Effective date: 24 July 2026.

What we collect Ratings and comments you choose to post, plus standard ad and analytics cookies.
What we don't No accounts, no passwords, no payment details, no selling of personal data. Ever.
Your choices Post as Guest, opt out of personalised ads, clear localStorage any time.

Ratings and Comments

Star ratings and comments are the only content you actively give us. Both work without accounts. A rating stores the star value with the item it rates. A comment stores the text you write, the optional name you enter (or "Guest"), and the time. We store this in our database (hosted on Supabase) and display it publicly on the relevant page. Do not include personal information in a comment you would not want published.

We may remove comments that are abusive, spammy or off topic. To request removal of a comment you posted, contact us with the page link and comment text.

Advertising Cookies

This site shows ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads, including personalised ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, and manage third party cookies through aboutads.info. EU and UK visitors see a consent notice before any personalised ads load.

Security Checks (Cloudflare Turnstile)

Comment and contact forms display a Cloudflare Turnstile widget, which runs a lightweight check to distinguish people from bots. Turnstile processes technical signals (like browser characteristics) under Cloudflare's privacy policy. It uses no advertising cookies.

Data Stored on Your Device (localStorage)

A few features store data only in your own browser, never on our servers: which items you have rated (so stars stay locked), saved meal plans and budgets from the meal planner, and recipe progress ticks on item pages. Clearing your browser data removes all of it. We cannot see any of it.

Analytics

We use basic analytics to understand which pages help people, counting visits, pages viewed, and rough location at country or city level. This data is aggregated; we do not build individual profiles.

Your Rights

Under UK GDPR you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold. Since we run no accounts, this in practice means comments you posted with an identifiable name. Contact us and we will act on verified requests within 30 days. Complaints can also go to the ICO, the UK data regulator.
